Guidelines for Supplying Artwork in an Electronic File Format
FormStore Incorporated requires that all artwork be submitted in accordance to the guidelines below. Upon completion of prep work, a PDF proof or matchprint (4CP) will be sent for final review and approval. Orders cannot proceed into production without a proof approval.
MACINTOSH PROGRAMS SUPPORTED:
- QuarkXpress 7.0, Photoshop CS3, Illustrator CS3, Freehand MX, Adobe Creative CS3 and In-Design CS3
PC PROGRAMS SUPPPORTED:
- QuarkXpress 7.0, Photoshop CS3, Illustrator CS3, Freehand MX, Adobe Creative CS3 and In-Design CS3
GENERAL INFORMATION: Please send a hard copy of your files showing color breaks and provide a hard copy/pdf of the directory or all files.
- Type Fonts: Adobe Type I Postscript Fonts. Send all printer and screen fonts
- Trapping: We will trap all files.
- Be sure to send us the original native file from your program with bleed.
- Graphics: All scanned line-art must be scanned at 600 DPI or greater and at the largest size to be used on the file.
- All grayscale or color images must be scanned at 300 DPI or greater and at the largest size to be used in the file.
- All grayscale and color images should be created and saved in Photoshop,(psd) .tif, or eps,
- Line-art images should be created and saved in either Illustrator or Freehand – Out line type whenever possible.
ACCEPTED MEDIA: on CD, DVD, FTP site, and Zipped / Stuffed email files.

WE DO NOT ACCEPT: PICT, RGB, GIF files:
- RGB images will not be converted to CMYK -- unexpected color shifts may occur.
- If you are using a PC program we accept zip file
No Corel Draw files.
- Corel files will be accepted if saved as Illustrator compatible-outline type.
No Files created in non-prepress applications such as: Home “desktop publishing” applications, Power Point and Persuasion applications, word processing applications nor low-end paint programs.
PageMaker is now outdated, but we can open in the files in In-Design. There may be some adjusting to be done though.
